When families and friends of nursing home residents join together, they can be a powerful force for improving care and ensuring dignity.
Today, LTCCC is releasing family council resources in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Korean, and Simplified Chinese to better serve diverse communities.
About the Resources
Family councils play a crucial role in ensuring quality care for residents of long-term care facilities. They provide a valuable way for family members and loved ones to come together, share concerns, and advocate for the well-being of residents. LTCCC’s family council resources are designed to empower families with the knowledge and tools needed to establish and sustain effective family councils in their loved ones’ nursing home and assisted living facilities.
While geared to family councils, most of these resources can support effective individual advocacy, too.
What’s Included?
- Guides on forming and operating family councils
- Advocacy tips and tools
