This program provides an updated look at nursing home performance in the Hudson Valley region, with a focus on staffing levels, federal quality ratings, and antipsychotic drugging trends. The program also offers practical guidance on dementia care standards and residents’ rights, including the appropriate use of antipsychotic medications, the importance of informed consent, and the right to receive individualized, person-centered care. The session further introduces LTCCC’s Dementia Care Toolkits, fact sheets, and additional resources to support families, advocates, and ombudsmen in promoting dignity, safety, and effective care in nursing homes.
