Coronavirus (COVID-19) poses an unprecedented threat to residents in nursing homes and other adult care facilities in the United States. As of April 27, 2021, approximately 184,000 residents and workers have died from COVID-19 and 1,400,000 individuals at 35,000 facilities have been infected, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation, while countless residents are suffering from isolation, substandard care, abuse, and neglect.
