Ageism is everywhere, but it is especially pervasive in nursing homes. As family members, ageism – prejudice or discrimination on the grounds of a person’s age – can be a barrier for advocating for your loved ones. On the next LTCCC NY Family Empower Half Hour (Thursday, April 27 at 12pm ET), we’ll talk about how to identify and navigate ageism as family members and advocates for residents in nursing homes and other long-term care settings.
LTCCC’s Family Empowerment Team (Jenine Ferrari & Gloria Murray) will be joined by Bette Ann Moskowitz (author of Finishing Up: On Aging and Ageism) to lead a discussion on ageism and to answer your questions.
We encourage family members and advocates from New York and across the US to join us and participate! Here’s how…
1) Register for the Zoom meeting at https://bit.ly/3UHG0Di or like us on Facebook to watch on Facebook Live.
1a) Submit a question about ageism via Zoom or email it to families@ltccc.org.
2) Look out for a confirmation email from LTCCC Family Empowerment. This email will include include the login link. Outlook users: If you don’t see the email, please check your “Other” tab.
